Ribbon Cutting Held for Appalachian Print Studio

The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Garrett County Department of Business Development to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Appalachian Print Studio in Friendsville in December.

Connor Norman, Business Development Specialist and Chair of the Garrett County Diplomats, led the ceremony. Local dignitaries in attendance include Garrett County Chamber of Commerce Board members Darryl Glotfelty and Patty Manown Mash. Representatives of multiple businesses who are to be future neighbors in the plaza also gathered in support of Appalachian Print Studio.

“Today is special because it’s another example of unwavering entrepreneurial spirit,” said Connor. “Congratulations to Appalachian Print Studio, their success is a testament to the vital role small businesses play in fostering economic development."

Attendees congratulated owner Kassy Cosner and expressed their excitement. Kassy explained the origin of the retail space, spoke about collaborating with local artists and the Print Studio’s focus on creativity, discussed ideas for hosting events in the space, and shared her appreciation for all the support she’s received.

“Appalachian Print Studio is as unique as Garrett County,” said Kassy. “It's a culmination of art celebrating what makes our slice of Appalachia so amazing. Creating a space that takes custom merchandise up a few notches utilizing top-tier design, creative use of blank merchandise, and a retail store that carries items that generally can't be found in our area is what fueled the concept. Seeing a gap in the local retail stores as well as services available to businesses who want to truly invest their marketing dollars effectively, we are working hard to develop a space that feels home to those who love Garrett County Appalachia as much as we do.”

Garrett County Diplomats Patty Manown Mash and Connor Norman assisted in the official ribbon cutting and presented Kassy with a First Dollar of Profit certificate on behalf of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce.

Located at 2150 Friendsville Road, in Unit 2 of the plaza, Appalachian Print Studio’s retail shop specializes in personalized graphic design and custom printing services. Additionally, they have curated a unique selection of retail items such as jewelry, books, metaphysical, art prints, crafts and so much more.
