At its public meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026, the Board of County Commissioners of Garrett County, Maryland, presented a Milestone Proclamation to Linda Carr of CLS Ventures, Inc. and Sarah Myers, recognizing the 35th anniversary of CLS Ventures, Inc. and The Lakefront Magazine.
Founded in 1991 by Skip and Linda Carr, CLS Ventures has grown into a multifaceted business offering a wide range of branded merchandise for promotional products and corporate gifts, in addition to publishing The Lakefront Magazine. Today, the publication continues its longstanding legacy under the ownership of Sarah Myers of Sarah Myers Marketing.
Commissioner Paul Edwards praised the company’s long-standing impact, stating, “CLS Ventures and The Lakefront Magazine have played a vital role in showcasing the beauty, businesses, and community spirit of Garrett County for decades. We are proud to recognize this incredible milestone.”
Business Development Specialist Connor Norman also highlighted the importance of supporting local enterprises. “Reaching 35 years in business is a remarkable achievement. CLS Ventures exemplifies resilience, innovation, and a deep commitment to our community,” Norman said.
Co-founder Linda Carr reflected on the journey, adding, “What started as a small idea has grown beyond what we could have imagined. We’re grateful to the Garrett County community for their continued support over the years.”
To commemorate the milestone, The Lakefront Magazine will host a 35th anniversary celebration party on April 28, 2026, at Firewater Kitchen + Bar. The event is open to the public and will offer an opportunity for the community to celebrate alongside the team behind the publication. Tickets will be $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
