Deep Creek Farmers Market Celebrates Five Years of Local Growth

The Garrett County Department of Business Development recently joined the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Deep Creek Farmers Market, recognizing its continued support of local farmers, producers, artisans, and small businesses.

Since opening in 2021, the Market has provided entrepreneurs and agricultural producers with a valuable venue to connect with customers, build their businesses, and showcase Garrett County products. It has also become a popular destination for residents and visitors, helping keep dollars in the local economy and supporting Garrett County's tourism and small business sectors.

The celebration was led by Chamber President Nick Sharps. Kendall Abruzzese, Outreach Coordinator for Congresswoman April McClain Delaney, presented a Certificate of Congressional Recognition, while Connor Norman, Business Development Specialist with the Garrett County Department of Business Development, presented a commendation on behalf of the Board of Garrett County Commissioners.

Chamber Diplomats Carol Calhoun, Kim Carter, Connor Norman, and Macey Wells also presented a Certificate of Recognition to Deep Creek Farmers Market President Julie Friend, Treasurer Katrina Knotts, and Board Member Cory Heyman.

The Garrett County Department of Business Development congratulates the Deep Creek Farmers Market on five successful years and recognizes its contributions to local entrepreneurship, agriculture, tourism, and economic vitality.
