Diehl’s Ford Sales recently celebrated two significant milestones, receiving Ford Motor Company’s prestigious President’s Award for the fifth time and a 40-year dealer award from Ford Credit.
Representatives from Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Credit Company joined employees, customers and community members at the dealership’s President’s Award and Customer Appreciation celebration on August 21, 2026, to recognize the accomplishments.
Raechel Dudek, Pittsburgh Regional Manager for Ford Motor Company, explained that the Ford President’s Award is presented annually to dealerships that demonstrate exceptional performance in sales and customer satisfaction. Only a small percentage of Ford dealerships nationwide receive the recognition each year.
For Diehl’s Ford Sales, the award represents more than sales performance. It reflects the continued success of a locally established business, its employees and its commitment to serving customers and the community.
“Diehl’s Ford Sales is an excellent example of the value established businesses bring to Garrett County,” said Kim Durst, Garrett County Business Development Manager. “Businesses that remain successful for decades provide jobs, serve local customers, invest in their communities and contribute to the overall strength of our local economy. We congratulate the Diehl family and their employees on this recognition and on 40 years as a Ford dealer.”
The dealership’s history in the community dates back more than a century. The business was originally founded as Motor Service Company in 1922 by Harvey Gornter and Floyd Diehl. Robert Diehl owned the business from 1958 to 1972 before re-entering the business in 1985 and rebranding it as Diehl’s Ford Sales. His son, Greg Diehl, and his wife, Vivian, purchased the business in 1994.
Over the years, Diehl’s Ford Sales has also maintained a strong commitment to the community, supporting local sports teams, civic organizations and schools. The business has conducted food drives and provided Thanksgiving meals to community members in need.
The company credits its employees as an important part of its continued success, noting their role in providing a high level of customer service and maintaining strong customer reviews.
The recognition comes as Diehl’s Ford Sales continues a 40-year relationship with Ford, demonstrating the long-term potential of locally owned businesses that adapt, invest and remain connected to the communities they serve.
The Garrett County Department of Business Development congratulates Diehl’s Ford Sales on its President’s Award and 40-year Ford Credit dealer recognition and celebrates the business’s longstanding contribution to Garrett County’s economy and community.
