Visiting pilots flying into Garrett County Airport now have access to a crew car, thanks to a vehicle donation from the Garrett County Development Corporation.
The crew car provides pilots with temporary local transportation while their aircraft is at the airport. The addition addresses a frequent request from visiting pilots, with airport staff receiving approximately two to three inquiries each week about ground transportation.
“We appreciate the Garrett County Development Corporation for making this resource possible,” said Adison Wyer, Garrett County Airport Manager. “Having transportation available once a pilot lands makes it easier for them to get into the community, whether they are here for a meeting, a meal, supplies or to spend some time in Garrett County.”
The vehicle comes after a multi-year effort to secure a pilot-use transportation option and provides another connection between Garrett County Airport and the surrounding community. For visiting pilots, that means easier access to local businesses, restaurants, attractions and services during their stay.
The Garrett County Development Corporation supports economic and community development initiatives that strengthen Garrett County. Its donation of the vehicle helps improve the airport experience while making the broader community more accessible to those traveling to Garrett County by air.
The crew car is now available for pilot use through Garrett County Airport, with usage guidelines and procedures provided by airport staff.
