MD Tech Council Creates Rural Technology Network

After months of behind the scenes work, the Maryland Tech Council is officially launching the Rural Technology Network.

The Rural Technology Network was created to accelerate business growth in rural Maryland with increased access to networking, business cost savings, professional education, and mentorship.

With a focus on the Eastern Shore and Western Maryland, the Rural Technology Network also aims to strengthen partnerships among private industry, educational institutions, and local governments—all with the goal of driving innovation and commercialization and expanding the region’s pipeline of homegrown talent.

The Maryland Tech Council will host inaugural events on the Eastern Shore and in Western Maryland this summer. Stay tuned for event details and sponsorship opportunities.

Anyone who spends time with entrepreneurs in Rural Maryland knows that they are teeming with ideas, talent and ambition. And the Eastern Shore and Western Maryland have unique advantages and industries that are hard to replicate anywhere else. The Rural Technology Network is the perfect way to accelerate the impressive innovation ecosystem here.

This effort has been months in the making. I want to thank each of you who has helped us get to this point - and I can’t wait to see you at a kickoff event soon.
