Tri-County Council for Western Maryland: A Fresh Look for the Path Ahead

Tri-County Council for Western Maryland has announced the launch of a refreshed brand identity that reflects the organization’s evolving work, renewed vision, and expanding portfolio of initiatives heading into 2026.

The updated branding arrives during a period of organizational growth and transition, as the Council continues to advance new projects and programs designed to support regional development across Western Maryland. Leadership noted that the rebrand was a timely step to better align the organization’s visual identity with its forward-looking direction and the momentum of recent changes.

At the center of the new identity is a redesigned logo intended to symbolize the collaboration of the region’s three counties (Allegany, Garrett, and Washington) working together in unity and shared progress. The design incorporates imagery of the Appalachian Mountains, a defining geographic feature of the region, to emphasize the Council’s deep connection to Maryland’s natural landscape and its ties to broader Appalachian communities within the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) region.

The badge also prominently features the organization’s founding year, 1972, underscoring its long-standing presence and decades of service to the region. Complementing the visual elements is a refined color palette of neutral earth tones, chosen to reflect the importance of nature in Western Maryland and its role in shaping local identity, quality of life, and community wellbeing.

The organization has expressed enthusiasm about the updated brand direction and anticipates that the new identity will strengthen recognition as it continues to expand its work across the region. Additional announcements and updates are expected in the near future as part of the Council’s ongoing communications rollout for 2026 initiatives.
