The Western Region of the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Garrett County Business Development, and Garrett College invite small business owners to Powering Possibilities: A Night for Entrepreneurs, an engaging networking event to connect, learn, and explore pathways to growth. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Garrett College in McHenry, MD.
Designed for both established business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, the evening will provide a welcoming setting to build relationships and gain knowledge that can help turn business goals into measurable progress
“Partnering with Garrett College and Garrett County Business Development for this Open House demonstrates our shared commitment to supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their business journey,” said Jodi Broadwater, Regional Director of Western Maryland SBDC.
Attendees will learn about local entrepreneurial support services, including the Entrepreneur in Residence Program sponsored by the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), and have the chance to meet one-on-one with experienced business consultants.
Broadwater added: “Garrett County is a wonderful place to start and grow a business because of the strength of its people, its collaborative spirit, and the genuine willingness of local organizations to help one another succeed. Together, we are stronger—and by connecting entrepreneurs with the resources, education, and support available throughout the county, we can help turn promising ideas into thriving local businesses.”
The event will also offer a preview of upcoming initiatives, including the Power of Possibilities event planned for Spring 2027, and a series of entrepreneurial workforce development workshops scheduled to launch at the start of the new year. Together, these upcoming opportunities reflect a commitment to creating a stronger, more connected environment for entrepreneurship in Garrett County and throughout the region.
