Garrett County businesses looking to attract more customers, clients, or supporters can learn how to use social media more effectively through the 3 State Community Media Center’s Social Media Bootcamp at Frostburg State University.
The two-hour training is offered Tuesdays through October from 5–7 p.m. in Room 333 of the Gira Center for Communications and Information Technologies (CCIT) on the Frostburg State University campus. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for October 13, 20, and 27.
The Social Media Bootcamp is designed for businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and community groups that want to use social media to strengthen connections but may not know where to begin.
Participants will learn about processes for identifying their target audience, considerations for creating and posting content, and how the 3 State Community Media Center can help participants achieve their communication and marketing goals.
For small businesses, social media can be a valuable and cost-effective way to increase visibility, connect with potential customers, showcase products and services, and maintain relationships with existing customers. Developing a clear understanding of an audience and creating content with that audience in mind can help businesses make better use of their online presence.
The cost is $25 for Affiliate Members, while Associate Members receive a 20% discount on training.
Registration is required by 3 p.m. on the Monday before the desired training date.
Participants must first complete a 3 State Community Media Center membership application. Affiliate Memberships are free, while Associate Memberships include a 20% discount on trainings and a 10% discount on facility rentals.
Garrett County Business Development encourages local businesses and entrepreneurs to take advantage of training opportunities that can strengthen their marketing skills and provide practical tools for business growth.
