At its public meeting on June 3, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners for Garrett County, Maryland presented a commendation to Max and Katherine Dubansky, recognizing Backbone Farm's 25th anniversary. Also taking part in the commendation were three of the Dubansky's children, Grace, Iris, and Tessa.
Family owned and operated since 1999, the Dubansky family has been growing sustainably raised produce, meats, mushrooms, and more. Their dedication to quality has made them a household farm–to–table favorite in Garrett County and the surrounding region.
Backbone Farm also hosts multiple events throughout the year. Upcoming events include Abigail Lapell live at Backbone; Poetry at the Farm with Kevin Chesser, Jen Browne, and Jesse Milnes; Carnal River Hag; and Sugarfoot Stompers - New Orleans-Style Jazz.
