A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, June 7, 2024, to celebrate the opening of The Bogey Club Golf Lounge, an event space for golf enthusiasts and groups to relax and enjoy virtual golf simulators. This unique lounge combines state-of-the-art golfing technology with a welcoming environment, perfect for both casual players and serious golfers.
Garrett County's Business Development Specialist, Connor Norman, led the ceremony.
“I’m immensely proud of Jake and the work he’s done to make this a reality,” Said Norman. “He sat down at my desk with a dream and, with a few resources and a push in the right direction, he turned that into what you see today. A first-of-its-kind business in our community”
Local dignitaries in attendance included County Commissioner Paul Edwards, Garrett County Chamber of Commerce President Andrew Fike, and Chamber Membership Manager Nick Sharps.
“Congratulations to Jake and Natalie. This is truly an incredible day for you guys,” said Edwards. “Small businesses like yours help make Garrett County a fun place to live and visit!”
Attendees congratulated proprietors Jake and Natalie Forgrave and expressed the positive impact they believe their business will have on the community. Jake spoke about the business, sharing a deep gratitude for the support he has received and how happy he was to see the business take shape.
“We’re excited to offer something new and exciting,” said Jake Forgrave. “We look forward to giving the communities' locals and visitors alike a place to create stories, have fun, and build lasting bonds with each other. We’ve got a lot planned, and we’re looking forward to making everyone a part of it.”
