A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, July 12, 2024, to celebrate the opening of Mountain Top Cheer & Dance, a community-focused studio providing high-quality competition cheerleading and dance instruction to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
Garrett County's Business Development Specialist, Connor Norman, led the ceremony.
"Congratulations, Jennifer, to you and your family," said Norman. “I am so happy your dream of enriching our community with diverse cheer and dance programs has come to life. We look forward to seeing the studio's continued positive impact on Garrett County."
Local dignitaries in attendance included County Commissioners Paul Edwards and Larry Tichnell, Oakland Mayor Andrew Sauder, Director of Community Development Steve Kelley, Garrett County Chamber of Commerce President Andrew Fike, and Chamber Membership Manager Nick Sharps.
“As a father and a grandfather, I love to see when the little ones have a safe place to have fun and grow,” said Commissioner Tichnell. “Small businesses like yours help make Garrett County a fun place to live, and it’s exciting to have this available to the children and adults looking to pursue their passion for this.”
Attendees congratulated Jennifer Lee and expressed the positive impact they believe the dance studio will have on the community. Jennifer spoke about the business and shared a deep gratitude for the support as her business takes shape.
“We’re excited to offer something new and exciting,” said Lee. “We have a regulation springboard floor, high ceilings, and incredible instructors that will offer top-of-the-line instruction and practices for anyone looking to grow their incredible talent right here in our own backyard.”
The Mountain Top Cheer and Dance Studio is located at 258 North Third Street, Oakland.
