Sodalightful is Keeping Garrett County Quenched This Summer

Sodalightful is a “dirty soda” trailer that has been setting up shop throughout Garrett County and keeping residents cool and hydrated.

With over a dozen flavor options to choose from, the trailer is only a month into operation. Its a family affair run by husbands and wives Michael and Kendra Yoder, and Ellie Bissell and Alan Orendorf.

“I was seeing a lot of people making drinks on TikTok and it looked so fun,” said co-owner Kendra Yoder. “I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but I like my specialty drinks, so I was seeing it more and more so I thought it could be a good time. So I went to my brother and sister-in-law here and said, ‘Hey, what do you guys think?’ and then next thing I know, we have it open!”

The trailer can mainly be found in the Grantsville Plaza operating from noon to 8 p.m. Fun flavors such as Cherry Vanilla Swirl, Very Berry, and The Campfire are made with a base of soda followed by flavored syrups and cold foam.

“We did an event in Kitzmiller when they had their homecoming, but so far it’s mostly been around Grantsville but we are hoping to go more towards Oakland, the lake, different places,” said Bissell.

Along with serving more areas of Garrett County, the owners of Sodalightful would also love to one day open a brick and mortar shop that could become a social hub in the county.

“We’d love to have an actual location and then have our trailer for bigger events or move it around here or there but that is what we are aiming towards. We don’t know how long that will take, we will just have to see,” said Kendra Yoder.

Sodalightful can be found on Facebook to be booked for events.
