Ribbon Cutting Held for Harvest House DCL

The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Garrett County Department of Business Development, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 26, 2025, to celebrate the grand opening of Harvest House DCL in Friendsville, Maryland.

The event was led by Connor Norman, Business Development Specialist and Chair of the Garrett County Diplomats. Local leaders in attendance included Delegate Jim Hinebaugh; Commissioners Paul Edwards and Larry Tichnell; Business Development Manager Kim Durst; and Chamber President Nick Sharps.

Garrett County Diplomats Steve Bortz, Carol Calhoun, Kim Carter, Stephanie Filsinger, Connor Norman, Kristin Skeweris, and Macey Wells also took part in the celebration, presenting owners Darryl Glotfelty and Haeli Gustafson with a First Dollar of Profit Certificate and assisting with the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Harvest House DCL is a vibrant bar, bistro, and farm café in Friendsville, Maryland, blending farm-fresh dining, community, and good vibes. Their on-site microgreen growing operation makes the farm-to-table promise real: each week they clear their racks, compost the soil, plant tiny seeds, and nurture new shoots to feed directly into their menu.

At Harvest House, guests enjoy locally sourced ingredients in creative dishes like super salads (built on their own microgreens), caprese and watermelon-fennel salads, elevated “glizzy” hot dogs, tacos, paninis, and more. Their drink menu features signature craft cocktails (such as the Pea Tendril Margarita, Mint To Be, and HH Old Fashioned), a rotating beer draft list, and wine selections.

Harvest House also offers an expanding brunch program on weekends, a coffee bar with specialty options like chagaccino, chaga matcha, and collagen lattes, and seasonal food and drink features aligned with local suppliers.

Located at 2132 Friendsville Road, Friendsville, MD, Harvest House DCL operates with hours that include Thursday through Saturday evenings, and weekend brunch service. It’s more than a bistro—it’s a social hub where agriculture, flavor, and community intersect.

Harvest House is here to raise the bar on good food, good drinks, and good vibes,” said Sharps. “It’s a place where our community can grow together and enjoy the best of what local agriculture has to offer. So, let’s cheers to new beginnings and wish Harvest House a future full of bountiful success.”
