Friendsville Welcomes Mountain Peak Soap Company With Grand Opening

The Town of Friendsville celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mountain Peak Soap Company this week, welcoming the new artisan soap and bath product business to the community. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of residents, local officials, and business leaders.

Owned and operated by Kelsey Artice, Mountain Peak Soap Company offers handcrafted goat milk soaps, lotions, bath bombs, and other bath and body products. Each item is made using fresh ingredients from Mountain Manor Farm, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability, local sourcing, and quality craftsmanship.

“Mountain Peak Soap Company began as a passion project on our family farm,” said Artice. “To see it grow into a storefront right here in Friendsville is a dream come true. We’re dedicated to providing high-quality, handcrafted products made with care and we’re grateful to be part of such a welcoming and supportive community.”

The ceremony was led by Connor Norman, Business Development Specialist, who commended Artice for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to local business.

“It’s always exciting to see small businesses like Mountain Peak Soap Company bring new life and energy into our towns,” said Norman. “This is more than a business, it’s a reflection of the creativity, dedication, and passion that defines Garrett County.”

Friendsville Mayor Spencer Schlosnagle also congratulated Artice and welcomed the new business to town.

“Friendsville continues to thrive because of people like Kelsey who believe in the power of local enterprise,” Mayor Schlosnagle said. “Mountain Peak Soap Company brings not only wonderful products but also a renewed sense of pride in what our small-town businesses can achieve.”

The event was attended by Community Development Director Steve Kelley, members of the Friendsville Town Council, Garrett County Chamber of Commerce President Nick Sharps, and the Garrett County Diplomats, all showing their support for local business development. Guests enjoyed refreshments and tours of the new shop following the ceremony.

The grand opening of Mountain Peak Soap Company marks an exciting addition to Friendsville’s growing business community and highlights the continued creativity, resilience, and collaboration that make Garrett County a great place to live and do business.

Mountain Peak Soap Company is now open to the public and invites visitors to explore its selection of locally crafted bath and body products at 254 Maple Street in Friendsville, Maryland.
