Community leaders, officials, and local enthusiasts gathered this week to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for The Pharm, Collectors Hobby Shop, Grantsville’s newest destination for sports card and trading card game collectors. The ceremony was hosted by Connor Norman, Business Development Specialist, who welcomed attendees and highlighted the shop’s role in strengthening the town’s business landscape.
“The opening of The Pharm shows how small businesses continue to bring energy and opportunity to Grantsville,” said Norman. “This shop reflects passion, community, and the kind of entrepreneurial spirit we’re proud to support.”
Owned by Casey Kamp, The Pharm offers a unique space designed with collectors in mind. The business describes its mission clearly: “The Pharm is designed to allow all collectors to win. We offer daily, weekly, and monthly giveaways, alongside incredible breaks, singles, and wax. We offer all sports and trading card games. If you need a place to hang out, meet us at the Pharm!”
Camp, who has been building a collector community both locally and online, shared his excitement during the ceremony. “Opening The Pharm in Grantsville means the world to me,” said Casey Kamp. “I wanted to create a place where people can come together, share their love of the hobby, and feel at home the moment they walk in. This community has already shown incredible support.”
Mayor Emily Newman-Edwards praised the addition of the shop to Grantsville’s business community. “The Pharm brings something fresh and exciting to our town,” she said. “It creates a gathering place for collectors and families, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to our growing Main Street.”
County Commissioner Ryan Savage also addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of small businesses in Garrett County’s continued growth. “Every new business adds to the momentum we’re seeing across the county,” Savage said. “The Pharm offers not only a fun retail experience but also a space for connection. It’s exactly the kind of investment that strengthens our communities.”
Following the ribbon cutting, guests toured the shop, browsed its selection of cards and collectibles, and learned more about Kamp’s plans to cultivate a vibrant collector hub in the region.
The Pharm is now officially open to the public, inviting newcomers and seasoned hobbyists alike to stop in, explore, trade, and enjoy a welcoming community environment. More information on hours and events can be found of The Pharm Facebook page.
